Audit tool - A Unified Guide to Promoting Equal Opportunities in Employment
The Unified Guide to promoting Equal Opportunities in Employment is designed as a tool to assist employers seeking to review existing employment practice as part of their overall Employment Equality Plan (EEP) process. It has an easy to use Policy Area format and is based on existing Statutory Codes of Practice. It allows for an integrated approach to the promotion of equality across nine grounds (age, sexual orientation, religious belief, race, disability, political opinion, sex including gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status and persons with or without dependants).
The Guide aims to provide employers with practical guidance on how to comply with their responsibilities under each of the anti-discrimination laws in respect of their treatment of job applicants and employees, and to assist employers to promote equality of opportunity in employment across all of the statutory equality grounds.
The Guide aims to amalgamate in one document the principles that are currently contained in the several equality codes of practice and other guidance materials that the Equality Commission has published.
You may access an electronic version of the Unified Guide by clicking on the image above or by clicking here.
