Education

Northern Ireland has a number of anti-discrimination laws that protect people in education. In this section education providers will find information which highlights the duties placed upon them by SENDO (Special Educational Needs and Disability Order 2005) and other equality legislation.

Education providers are also employers and may find useful information in the Employers section of this website.

Teachers and pupils will also find a number of PowerPoint presentations and pen and paper activities designed to support the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion objectives in the Northern Ireland Post-Primary Curriculum.

The Commission provides free information, advice and training to education providers who need to know more about the role of the Equality Commission in general or about how equality legislation affects them.  If you have a query, please ring us on 028 90 500 600 or use contact us.
