LABELLING BY AGE ISN’T ON…

As part of the age campaign the Commission developed an age related drama to increase awareness of the new age regulations in a rights based capacity.

We worked in partnership with a script writer (Gerry Moriarty) and actors from Community Arts Forum to develop a script that accurately reflected the terms of the law.

The Commission plan to use this DVD in training sessions. We also plan to disseminate it amongst the sector in order to raise awareness of the law.

The plot…

The location is the White family front room, evening. Gran (Joan, 67), Mum (Deirdre, 43), Dad (Mark, 50+), Daughter (Lisa, 17), Son (Sam, 14) and Stephanie 40ish, the neighbour from hell.
Deirdre is sitting on the sofa, wearing her nursing assistant´s uniform, long-sufferingly looking at Stephanie´s holiday photographs. Stephanie is just back from a Caribbean cruise; her tan is eye-smacking. Mark is trying to read the paper and avoid talking to Stephanie. Lisa is at the table working her way through a pile of newspapers and application forms - Gran is helping her. Sam is watching the TV with the sound turned off and writing furiously in a notebook.
