New website highlights changes to disability discrimination law

The Equality Commission has developed a website at www.youarenowcovered.org to highlight changes to disability discrimination law being introduced under the Disability Discrimination (NI) Order 2006. Some of the changes which came into effect on 31 October 2007 affect people who have been diagnosed with cancer, HIV or MS and those who have mental ill health. The site has been developed in partnership with a number of support organisations and has information for employers, service providers and the education sector as well as information about disabled people’s rights. Click here to find out more. Why don’t you send the link to a friend or colleague!
