Childcare and women’s economic participation

We are concerned about the impact of current government policy in relation to pension reform, and indeed welfare reform, more generally. While reform of our public sector and reform of the benefits system may be necessary, we are concerned that some proposals may have the effect of undermining previous gender equality gains and, specifically, many women’s financial independence.
