Fair Employment Monitoring Report

The 29th Monitoring Report presents an aggregated summary of the 3,777 valid monitoring returns received during 2018 from 105 public authorities and 3,672 private sector concerns.  These returns were received between 1st January and 31st December 2018.

This year’s report shows the Protestant community share of the monitored workforce was [50.7%] and the Roman Catholic community share was [49.3%].

Our Public Opinion Surveys are currently being under taken in the Autumn/Winter of each year, with publication on this website in the following Spring.  The surveys use a quota-based sampling approach of 500 completed telephone interviews.
The surveys asked a range of questions looking at different aspects of equality in Northern Ireland. The findings are available on the Public Opinion Survey webpage or by pdf download:



The Independent Mechanism for Northern Ireland (IMNI) have produced a working paper, containing Northern Ireland specific detail.  This paper will raise awareness of key issues in Northern Ireland and drive action by Government and others to address identified shortfall, thereby advancing the full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Northern Ireland.
