Event invitation
The 5th December 2023, the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, Belfast Ciy Council and Northern Ireland Union for Supported Employment will present a session designed to assist employers promote positive action and reasonable adjustments in respect of employees with disabilities, under the DDA.
Date: Tuesday 5 December 2023
Time: 9:30am - 12:30am (followed by light lunch)
Location: Belfast Castle, Antrim Road, Belfast
The session will include a range of speakers who will focus on the good practice and the support services and programmes available to employers.
We will be presenting useful guidance and information on:
- Positive action measures in recruitment and procurement
- Pre-employment training and work trials for disabled people
- Social value measures, ring fencing jobs and retention
- Lived experiences of disabled people finding employment
Speakers will include representatives from Brain Injury Matters, Adapt NI, Disability Action, Belfast City Council, Strategic Investment Board, Stepping Stones, AC Hotel by Marriott Belfast, JP Corry Builders Merchants, BBC, Department for Communities, the Equality Commission and NIUSE.
Who should attend?
This event will be of particular interest to those working in human resources and diversity and inclusion managers/officers.
