Anti-Homophobia and Transphobia Week 2014

Anti-Homophobia and Transphobia Week 2014
12/05/2014
The Equality Commission is supporting Anti-Homophobia and Transphobia Week 12-18 May 2014.

The Equality Commission will be contributing at the launch of Anti-Homophobia and Transphobia Week at Belfast City Hall at 10 am today (Monday, May 12) and will be involved in a range of events throughout the week.

The Commission is supporting a programme of events jointly organised by The Rainbow Project, HERE NI and Cara Friend.

“It is not acceptable that some people in Northern Ireland experience harassment  and discrimination simply because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, “Dr. Michael Wardlow, Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission said. “The Commission is here to provide advice and support to anyone who experiences discrimination.

We encourage people to show their support for LGB&T people who have a right to lead a life free from discrimination, abuse or harassment.
