Event: Equality and human rights for disabled people after Brexit

Event: Equality and human rights for disabled people after Brexit
22/11/2021
7 December 2021, 2:30pm - 4pm

Equality and Human Rights for Disabled People after Brexit

The UK Government has committed in the Ireland/Northern Ireland Protocol to ensuring that many of the equality and human rights we were afforded before the UK’s departure from the EU will continue to be protected now that we have left the EU. It has also committed to ensuring that certain equality laws in Northern Ireland will keep pace with any future changes to a number of EU equality laws.

As part of this year's
Human Rights Festival, join the Equality Commission and the NI Human Rights Commission to hear about the implications of the UK Government’s commitment for the equality and human rights for people with disabilities here after Brexit.

The event will take place on
Tuesday 7 December, 2.30pm - 4pm

We are dedicating time at the end of the online discussion to provide you with an opportunity to ask questions. You can also submit your questions before the event by emailing dmu@equalityni.org

We look forward to hearing from individuals and organisations, particularly people with disabilities and representative organisations, to help us better understand the issues and barriers being faced by people with disabilities after Brexit.
