Chief Executive Evelyn Collins receives award of Doctor of Laws (LDD) from University of Ulster and tells Graduates opportunity for all is the key.
“Be open to the opportunities that are there for you – and make the most of those opportunities when they arise.” That was the message from Dr. Evelyn Collins CBE, Chief Executive of the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, when she addressed students of the University of Ulster yesterday following her receipt of the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LLD).
Dr. Collins was awarded the Doctorate by the University of Ulster for her outstanding contribution to the promotion of equality and good relations.
“The key to recognising the opportunities which are right for you, and to making the most of them, is to find the path to which you can bring commitment, passion and determination. For me that has been working to promote equality of opportunity and good relations in Northern Ireland. My aspiration for you, and for all the young people in our community, is that Northern Ireland will be a more equal and inclusive place for everyone in the years to come.”
