The Equality Commission has welcomed the agreement on a racial equality strategy by the Northern Ireland Executive as progress towards the important tasks of promoting racial equality and tackling racist hate crime in this society. 

“We have been urging that the Executive, through this Strategy, commit to specific actions on these vital issues,” Dr. Michael Wardlow, Chief Commissioner said. “We made detailed submissions during the consultation process, and now will be giving careful consideration to the Strategy”.
