Implementation in NI

UK Independent Mechanism
​The Independent Mechanism for NI have contributed to the UKIM report on progress since the 2016 Inquiry into the impacts of welfare reforms on the rights of disabled people. This will be considered by the UN Committee on 28 Aug 2023.

ECNI and NIHRC have also submitted a Jurisdictional report on progress in Northern Ireland since the 2016 Inquiry.

UN Inquiry 2023
The UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is conducting a follow-up inquiry into what action the UK Government and NI Executive have taken since 2016 to protect people with a disability from the impact of social security reforms.

The Committee will consider evidence on progress on Mon 28 Aug 2023. Proceedings will be broadbast live online.
