Equality update for North West employers

Equality update for North West employers
15/05/2015

A key event for employers and businesses comes to the North West on 9 June, when the Equality Commission brings its Employer Equality Update to the Millennium Forum.

The event, staged in Derry/Londonderry for the first time, will bring together an overview of employment equality law developments, case law updates, workshops and bookable one to one advice sessions aimed at helping local employers and service providers stay the right side of the law.

Paul Oakes, from the Equality Commission’s Advice and Compliance division, is one of the organisers.

“This event is aimed at two main audiences. It will be useful for experienced HR professionals who want an update on key issues, legal developments and cases, plus a look forward to what we might expect in the coming year.

“It is also of importance for smaller businesses, which may be newer to equality, offering condensed training workshops and one to one advice with an experienced adviser on how to avoid discrimination.

“The event will benefit public and private sector employers and service providers, business owners, HR professionals, equality professionals, managers of frontline services and trade union officials.

"The North West Employer Equality event is free of charge, runs from 10am to 3.30pm on 9 June 2015 and includes lunch.  Please register your attendance in advance and if you want to book a one to one advice session, please let us know at time of booking."

To secure your place, please email edtraining@equalityni.org or contact Michael on 028 90 500 560.

Visit the information page for the event for updates on the agenda and speakers, and to see details of the choice of workshops.

This event has been organised with the support of Derry City and Strabane District Council.
