The Commission delivers the range of work governed by our statutory remit. We believe we are making a difference to people’s lives in Northern Ireland, by improving equality of opportunity for everyone and in doing so contributing to the creation and maintenance of a more equal society.
In the Commission we are proud of the steps we have taken to improve our business. We set ourselves high standards and aim to achieve quality performance in all elements of our work. We use a number of quality models to drive forward improvement.
The Commission’s services include;
- Giving advice and support to individuals with potential complaints under the anti-discrimination legislation
- Giving guidance to employers and service providers about their obligations under the law and good practice
- Encouraging public authorities to promote equality of opportunity and address inequalities in fulfilling their equality and good relations duties
- Ensuring that equality considerations are central to decision-making by focusing particular attention in a number of key public policy areas.
